Plant Mixes
The Hinterlands Pollinator Plant Mixes contain plant species native to northern Illinois. Because these plants evolved alongside resident and migratory pollinators such as native bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, they provide the best possible habitat for them. Plant mixes are designed to produce a succession of blooms from from April until October, so that nectar and pollen are available throughout the growing season. A list of some of the typical native perennials that we have found that work well in planters are shown in the table below. We source our plants from the Natural Garden Natives line at Midwest Groundcovers.
1 x self-watering planter (approximately 14”H x13”W x 13”L)
1 x perennial grass, 3 x flowering perennials
Premium potting soil
